FAQ (PSU)

1. General Questions

What certifications do MOAIPLAY power supplies have?

Our power supplies are certified with 80 PLUS or Cybenetics ETA/LAMBDA and comply with the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, delivering stable and efficient performance.

Do MOAIPLAY power supplies have global warranty?

No. MOAIPLAY does not offer a global warranty. Warranty support is only available in the region and through the channel where the product was purchased.

2. Installation and Usage

How do I properly install the power supply?
  1. Power off the computer and unplug the power cord.
  2. Install the PSU into the designated position in the case, ensuring the fan orientation is correct (usually facing downward or outward).
  3. Secure the PSU with screws to prevent movement.
  4. Connect the motherboard, graphics card, storage devices, and other modular cables according to the manual.
  5. Ensure all cables are firmly connected before powering on.
Can I use modular cables from other brands?

No. Using cables from other brands or different series may have different pin layouts and can damage the motherboard or graphics card.

How do I calculate the right PSU wattage for my system?
  1. Check the power consumption of the CPU, GPU, storage devices, and other components.
  2. Multiply the peak power by 1.3 to 1.5 for safe overhead.
  3. High-end GPUs like the RTX 4090 require at least an 850W PSU with a 12VHPWR connector.
Can a PC power supply be used for other devices?

No. MOAIPLAY PSUs are designed for PCs only. Using them with servers, industrial machines, or non-PC devices can cause damage or safety hazards.

How to ensure safe cable installation?

(1) 12VHPWR and 12V-2x6 connectors

  • Ensure the connector is fully inserted until you hear or feel a click.
  • Avoid bending the cable within 35mm behind the connector to maintain proper contact and prevent overheating.
  • Use only original cables provided with the PSU or GPU; avoid uncertified third-party extensions.

(2) PCIe 6+2 pin connectors

  • Ensure the 6-pin and 2-pin parts are securely combined before connecting to the GPU.
  • If the cable has two connectors, always use the first connector for stable power delivery.
  • Avoid daisy-chaining multiple GPUs on a single cable; use a separate cable for each GPU.

3. Troubleshooting

My system does not power on, what should I do?
  1. Check the outlet and power cord.
  2. Make sure the PSU switch is set to 'I'.
  3. Check that the 24-pin and 8-pin CPU connectors are firmly connected.
  4. Try another outlet or a different power cord.
  5. Try another outlet or a different power cord.
  6. If the issue persists, contact MOAIPLAY support.
My PSU emits a high-pitched noise under load. Is this normal?

Slight coil whine is normal with high-efficiency PSUs and does not affect safety or performance.

I smell burning or see smoke, what should I do?
  1. Power off the system and unplug immediately.
  2. Disconnect all cables.
  3. Contact MOAIPLAY support for inspection or RMA.

4. Warranty and Support

How long is the warranty for MOAIPLAY PSUs?

The warranty varies by model, typically between 3 and 10 years. Check the product packaging or our warranty policy for details.

How do I request an RMA for repair or replacement?
  1. Prepare your proof of purchase and the product serial number.
  2. Submit a request via Contact Us and describe the issue.
  3. After review, we will provide an RMA number and shipping instructions.
What should I return with the PSU for RMA?

Return only the PSU unit. Do not send power cords, modular cables, or original packaging.

Can I open the PSU for cleaning or repairs?

No. Opening the PSU voids the warranty and poses a high risk of electric shock. Always use authorized support for inspections or repairs.
